inspired by my new purchase and finding myself on a new learning curve, but dont worry or celebrate i'm not calling it a day. i'm a tenacious little bugger and i will tame the new beast even if it takes the rest of my life. special thanks to greeny for recording advice, which i sort of turned inside out.
recorded guitar line in using fornylon effect to stereo tracks 1 and 2, the recorded again using st steel effect to tracks 3 and 4.

panned guitars as so
tracks 1 and 2 to left 50 to 0 and tracks 3 and 4 to right 50  to 0. so one left and one right but meeting in the middle sort of too.
then bounced and recorded a dry vox with no effects or reverb, which i absolutely hate doing and felt naked but was only way that sort of worked. i still have a lot to learn

update. ignore what i said above,  i wasn't happy with that mix, so remixed same guitar tracks but now both with full stereo mix for each of them, then redid vocals but this time clothed in fornylon setting with tap delay turned on and recorded to stereo tracks.

i'm fumbling around
trying to find my way
i'm lost in the darkness again
i've got my ears to the ground
i'm looking out for the clues
to get me back on the right road
again
you learn something new
everyday
but if you don't
you should just call it a day
call it a day
i know where i wanna be
way up on higher ground
i've gotta scale that hill
again
yeah it's a struggle to the top
but i'll keep going till i drop
and when i do i'll pick myself back up
again
cos you learn something new
everyday
and if you don't
you should just call it a day
call it a day
the day you stop learning
they'll put you in a box
so don't kid yourself
that you know everything
the day you stop trying
oh pray it never comes
when you
call it a day
call it a day

Cool. The echo on the guitar almost makes it sound like a 12-string.
