just recieved my new guitar very happy with it. but the pick up is faulty so getting replaced. the pick up has both a piezo and built in mic, and can be blended between both, but unfortunately the piezo part isn't working and only picking up from guitars built in mic. going back tomorrow, replacement coming on thursday. that said for the money £99 everything about it looks as good as some more expensive guitars.

so anyway one ive done before but on my daughters guitar i think, so thought i'd redo it for 70s fest. tinkering about with settings and inputs on micro br. used guitar/mic for input and fornylon with tap delay turned on to record the guitar. am sure i can get it to sound better, so experimenting with this one till i send it back. am sure will sound even better with one with piezo pick up working.

posted picks of guitar earlier but pick up was different from one advertised, actually a better one methinks if it worked properly

Congrats James !!! Looks great and sounds good as well even without the piezo, but yes with that fixed I'm sure it will sound even better!

The new guitar looks and sounds great ORH. Is this sound with the onboard mic plugged to the MBR or are you using the MBR mics? No matter really, just curious, because it sounds very full and smooth as though you are strumming with your thumb. You'll have fun blending the piezo pick up in when you get it fixed. Good song also.

i only know how to strum with my thumb lol. is guitat mic through guitar in but also via onboard mic on my mbr at the same time. guitar/mic inputon mbr allows you to recordfrom guyitar and acousticaly throw mbrs onboard mic at same time.

Congrats for the new guitar, it looks and sounds fine! Electro-acoustic is a good choice! What happens to Ikea guitar, now?? You must put it under vitrine in ORH museum

Sounds great! Too bad about the defective pickup. Are you sure it's not just a weak battery? Piezos stop working when the voltage drops below a certain threshold. Anyway, it's great that you're getting the better pickup/preamp with the contact mic and the blend control. That will help to get a better sound, and a greater variety of sounds. And that contact mic sounds pretty good on its own!

I had a hell of a hard time figuring out how this song qualifies for 70sFest since I'm not familiar with it and you didn't say who did it originally. I couldn't find any song called "my head is my only house until it rains". However, I did find a song called "My Head Is My Only House Unless It Rains" by Captain Beefheart on his Clear Spot album from 1972. Since I know you're a big Captain Beefheart fan, I figured that must be what this is. I'll forgive your carelessness and put it down to excitement over the new guitar.
