It also features my brother Jarle on drums !!!

This has been a long process .... many files back and forth ..... The mistake by me not suggesting that we all use WAV files, caused a lot of timeshifting issues for me in both Audacity and on the BR800. MP3 conversion does quite often introduce a timeshift !!!!

Yeh there is a big time thing happening in the vocals the music is spot on and that sax sound is great,the start sounds a bit jumbled on my ipad here vocally,the drum sound is also good.

Second listen on headphones and its much better ,the bass by the way is outstanding ,I think listening on the iPad speaker there is a slap back effect on the vocal that works better on headphones,Geirs obviously spent a bit of time on the production,everybody on this gels as always,nice one,easy the kites

Fabulous! I love the high guitar chord riff at the beginning and throughout. Bass and drums are excellent, as are the vocals.

Yep. Never use MP3 files in collabs. Conversion to MP3 should only be done once and it should always be the last thing you do after the song is mixed, mastered, normalized, and trimmed. Having said that, here's a little trick I just discovered which might help if you have to deal with MP3s in a future collab. Instead of importing the MP3 files directly into Audacity, use LAME from the command line as shown in the following example:

lame --decode vox_03_02.mp3

(note that there are two dashes before the word "decode")

This will create a WAV file called vox_03_02.wav which has the silence removed so the tracks should line up perfectly. Why Audacity can't do this I don't know, since it already uses lame to import MP3s.

I discovered this with a simple test in Audacity. I created a click track in a new Audacity project, then exported that track as an MP3 file. I then imported the MP3 file into the same project and could easily see a timeshift of about 50ms. From the command line, I used LAME to convert the MP3 to WAV with the --decode option. I them loaded that WAV file into the Audacity project alongside the original track and the MP3, and found that it lined up perfectly with the original track.

For those who don't like using the command line, there are several GUI front ends available for LAME which might work, though I haven't tried them. Here's one such GUI front end:
