Have you seen this?

First half is about his picking technique - makes a lot of sense. And yeah, he's a got a pick there. And then the last section he's taking the Good Times part to bits.

Interestingly, his approach is a lot like Wilco Johnson's (who doesn't/didn't use a pick - but he's just hard! :D)

And yeah, I was gonna say earlier that it was probably straight into the desk with compression and driving the channel itself. No idea how you do that nowadays with digital stuff, though.

Andy, i took your expert advise about the thin tone and the pick attack. I used a different set up and re-tracked the guitar parts using my Tele, with BKP Blackguards. thanks for the advise mate, you the man as usual!! :-)

My mate Colin is knocking himself out with his Ring Modulator on another track just to add a bit more interest until the vocals get done.
