Seed Of A Tumbleweed

V1
He was born in Fresno County
In a little place called Huron
His Dad drove a caterpillar
His momma kept the soup on

A few years in that dust bowl
He grew up kind of fast
With a tattoo on his shoulder
Wailin' on a stratocast....er

(Chorus)
Raised beneath a rosebush thorn
A seed of a tumbleweed
Close to the oak, a fallen acorn
The seed of a tumbleweed

V2
He was headed in the wrong direction
But luck had a hard wind blowin' north
He blew into the valley
Where he would stay the course

His years of schoolin' where finished there
That kept the demons at bay
Now and then the wind blew south
But he turned his head away

(Chorus)
(Solo)

(Bridge)
He always wanted to do his daddy proud
But felt his momma's scorn
Time has a way of movin' on
He made it through the storm

(Chorus)
Raised beneath a rosebush thorn
A seed of a tumbleweed
Close to the oak, a fallen acorn
The seed of a tumbleweed

Nice one Farrell. The new guitar sounds great, especially in the lead solo.

The lyric of the second verse reminds me of Arlo Guthrie's "The Motorcycle Song".

"I don't want a pickle
Just want to ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want a tickle
'Cause I'd rather ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want to die
Just want to ride on my motorcy... cle"

Oh yes. Love it. The harmonica part is fantastic, then it opens up into a big, radio-friendly song that sounds like a long lost Rock-pop classic. Great title and lyrics too. Man, you get that guitar wailing so good! Brilliant stuff.

Thanks guys!

64 - It is funny what we choose to use for rhymes. If one's not available get creative and make it up, lol!

Greeny - new toys are always a great source of inspiration.

Regs - I think you deserve a new guitar but Christmas is so far off......treat yourself as soon as possible!

Thanks again all!

Cool tune Farrell...that harp intro took me back to Bodie Town!

Good story put to a solid folky arrangement. I like story telling songs.

Nice playing on all counts and just a fun listen with a beat that keeps it movin'....
