It's been ages since I submitted a festival track, one of my favourite from the late 70's - released in Germany in 1978 and the UK in 1981. Maybe it's stretching the festivals rules a bit, but I'm sticking with the original release date.

I'm not singing it German though if anyone fancies a stab I can put the track up minus the vox.

All done on a Korg R3, except the vocal obviously which was recorded using a Rode NT1a, and mixed in Reaper.

Fabulous. I love the synth sounds. Vocals are quite good too. I don't know the original but this certainly has that Kraftwerk sound.

I was excited even before I pressed the play button!

Absolutely fantastic, Mike. The synths are spot on - song and period authentic, and you nail the vocal too. This was such an influential song on me - it made me aware of Kraftwerk and then I started looking back at their older stuff. What a brilliant and inspired cover. Thanks - made my morning :-)

Ditto!

I was seriously considering covering this... for the unplugged fest... I love the song, and lately I have been listening to a lot of synth pop. I am not sure if it came from someone in this site, or if I discovered it myself, but last week I lost (won!) 2 hours of my life listening to the fun-tastic documentary from BBC - Synth Brittania. Really recommend!

Count me among the excited...  8)

I really got into Kraftwerk rather late...about five years ago, when I picked up 'Computer World'. Needless to say, I got 'The Man-Machine' soon thereafter. :)

You captured the vibe on this one perfectly. Loved the synth parts, and a perfect vocal delivery.

I'm really not into covers, but hearing "Das Modell" in English was a very interesting experience. You captured the mood very well. I've always loved the original version, but this one is really nice too.

Fantastisch ! Wunderbar !  Great cover of a classic. Brilliant synth and a cracking vocal.  I remember dancing to this in the 70's at a 'disco' I used to go to - Wigan nightlife must have been very avant garde !
One of my top 10 synth songs - love it!
