"Within & Underneath" a Hook original

I've been working on this since Thursday. Started playing with the smart drums in Garageband (iphone), there is this neat random feature where you roll the dice and it changes the ryhthm so I recorded a round 3 1/2 min. of me rolling the dice. Then Like I do with Tampaska, I wrote the progression to the drum track. Drums & ukes done in the car, bass, vocals and thumbjam done at home. The trumpet was thumjam through mbr guitar effect p72.

Thanks for listening guys, can't be happy all the time .
Memory is a recurring theme in my writing, my own being rather underwhelming and my father is suffering from extreme memory loss. The tune started out about him I guess then kind of started to compare the two of us and the idea that regardless of the knowledge, or the lack of,there's an emptiness within... & underneath...I think I don't know it's all a little  stream of consciousness & a bunch of crap ... so...it is what it is.

A very private set of lyric hook.......I can hear the real emotion in your vocal delivery. The music fits the lyric mood as well. I truly empathize with you here. I went through this memory loss process with my Mother for 5 years until she passed. She couldn't recall a lot of things but she never forgot who I was.
