What a guy, and what a dignified and fascinating interview under the circumstances. Listening to it brought a lump to my throat.

Read that article the other day Nick and was going to post the link myself.  What a great attitude to take - I think I'd go under if I was in the same position.  And to go on a farewell tour... so brave !! Let's hope for a miracle !!

i hope he makes it to glasgow, it will be so emotional to see him. reminds me of an interview with dennis potter, when he was dying and during the interview was drinking liquid morphine to kill the pain, but he spoke of life being so vibrant. will see if i can link that from somewhere.

I remember that too, I taped it on VCR it was that good. He called his cancer 'Rupert' named after his great enemy and mine Rupert Murdoch.  Melvyn bragg conducted it I think? Great bloke old Dennis, a one off that's for sure.
