Oh dear - assistance required!

I'm probably going to instantly regret posting this because it's probably real easy but I've tried importing videos into Windows Live Movie Maker and there's no sound. Tried googling it and it doesn't help.

The video is already on my laptop (trying to cut and paste different vids together).

Does anyone know where I'm going wrong?

haven't done this for a while, but I remember some kind of slider 'mixer' button which changes the balance between the movie sound level and the audio sound level (if you have a separate Mp3 track).

Might be worth trying to import the soundtrack / audio part as a separate Mp3?

Hopefully you'll get some 'proper' advice too... ha ha

It's a recording of one of my gigs, so there's not separate sound track and no MP3, as I do a lot of ad libbing live and I want the laughing etc (yes I've got one where they actually laughed)- I want to put sections of it into something else - crikey now I've found something I'm even worse at than recording.
