Another 70s Fest submission.  2nd attempt at a cover.

Turn Me On
The Tubes
Turn me on 'cause I need it now
Turn me on 'cause I don't know how
Pick me up and shake me
Tune me in and take me
Lights are bright and the music's loud

Let me know what I need to know
Make me go where I want to go
Let me stand and wonder
Let me feel the thunder
See the lightning and the picture show

Put your hand on the power

Turn me on again and again
Say you're always gonna be my friend
Love me like you mean it
Make a mess and clean it
Don't you stop 'til I tell you when

Got a feeling something's taken hold
'Cause I'm flying by remote control
No misunderstanding
Before I make a landing
I'll lose my mind and I'll trade my soul

Put your hand on the power

When I look you in the eye
Then it's everything I need
Let me look you in the eye
'Til the spell comes over me

Turn me on
Making the colors bright
Turn me on
Making it go all night

Turn me on
Giving me louder sound
Turn me on
Making it spin around

Turn me on
Sing and dance for me
Turn me on
Keeping me company

Turn me on
Making it fast and hot
Turn me on
Give me a different shot

Put your hand on the power and

And why don't you turn me on

Nice job. I like that fast bass riff. I don't know the original but this sounds good to me.

I'm somewhat surprised nobody knows this song.  I wore out the cassette that featured it, back in the day.
Maybe I should have tried "White Punks On Dope" instead!

Greeny

never heard of the band or the song, but it sounds great!

Hilary

I love The Tubes! This is a cool cover of Turn Me On Chezedog. The Tubes are well known in the U.S.A. especially the  West Coast but maybe not so much Internationally?  I know they have toured the world but their music style is some what of an acquired taste. Probably the biggest commercial hit was She's A Beauty ( besides White Punks On Dope). I've seen them in concert a few times and their live show with the full props are fantastic. It's Rock N Roll but with a quasi-porno stage act.  With songs like Power Tools, Don't Touch Me There, Talk To Ya Later, 50 Foot Woman you can imagine the props, lol. But they are real top musicians with great stage presence. Look them up on youtube...you'll be in for a treat. Great cover Chezedog!

I've seen the vid of Don't Touch Me There - it's very, err, interesting! Reminded me of Toucha, toucha, touch me from The Rocky Horror Show - the song not the vid. Must have been quite ground-breaking at the time. I thought they were paroding themselves btw and that it was meant to be tongue in cheek (pardon the pun)  :D

A real blast from the past, this one.
I remember seeing The Tubes on ... Er ... The Tube ... performing White Punks On Dope.

Wow this takes me right back  -  Jules and Paula - heady days, I think I still have this on VHS somewhere, I was obsessive about taping the Tube, and the Tubes on the Tube didn't pass me by.

White punks on dope next!

Great cover
