Yep, your right thats what I do.

I can of course record direct into Soundforge, or use Sony Music - but I find Sony Music to be pretty pants.

Before the 1180 (non CD - so another reason for using soundforge, to make CDs) I had and still have a Fostek tape studio which was pretty good.

The 1180 sat in its box for about 2 years before I got it out and started recording - but it is pretty good, I haven't used all the features it has. I tend to collect equipment, I have a BOSS Me8 kicking about, and a Yamaha DD4 plus a Zoom Rhytym Tracker, but getting everything to talk to each other is a nightmare. I need to get my head around a drum machine or learn some drum techniques.

Sound forge is excellent because you can see the wave, also I find it easier to cheat sometimes, one of my songs for example, I had to play the same complicated riff all over the fret board and after 25 attempts I though sod it I'll play it once then cut and paste 5 times, and it worked!

What are you using? I was thinking of getting something more modern, but sometimes the devil you know!
