Bass Guitar Simulator.

Hi, I have a BR900 and I tried the built in bass simulators with no really good results. I ended up buying a cheapo bass which after a bit of setting up to my ears sounds an awful lot better. I paid about £100 for the bass which came with a small amp (10W) a strap and lead. I really think it's worth saving for if like me you don't have the odd £100 burning a hole in your pocket...........Willie

Hi, I am convinced that a cheap bass is the way to go, so as soon as my friend want his back I will be looking to buy one. Maurice.

I finally got my BR-800. I play violin and have an electric violin: running the E. violin through the bass sim is really, really weird. ;D It's kinda cool. It's kinda not. ;D It sounds like a cross between a bowed acoustic bass and a really cheap bass trombone.

The guitar effects are amazing on my electric. I have a Pod, Guitar Rig 4 and some other effects. The BR is the first unit I've owned that I can actually get a good sound out of. The only thing not doing it for me are these stupid touch "buttons"- they suck! I'm actually wondering if my unit is defective.  Is there a trick to them? Sometimes they just won't work.

The button sensitivity can be adjusted somewhere in the menues. That may or may not help ::)

How the heck did we all, mostly unknowingly, make the transition from pushing strings to pushing buttons?
Is this still considered playing an instrument?

Good to know, thanks. I'm assuming it was cheaper to build it with the virtual buttons, I've never used that kind before.

Thanks, that was helpful. I think I got the hang of it now.

I bought a refurbished one at a really good price, so I'm being extra cautious that it's working at 100%. So far so good.

Gotta agree with that Speedy. Nowadays any idiot can write a song. Just press some buttons on a pod, computer , hook up your app phone, download a drum track, rip off a riff, program this program that, open a youtube account and a facebook one while your at it and bingo, your a star. All this without knowing a single thing about any string instrument or music whatsoever. Such is life as we don't know it!
Sweet young thing aint sweet no more.

But.. There may be hope on the horizon for long suffering guitar players. By all accounts 2013 will herald a new dawn of guitar based music. Out with the computerised nonsense and Mumford and sons rubbish. In with the electric guitar and analogue recording. Er maybe. I won't hold my breath.
