i couldn't resist adding a vox/talkie lyric concerning the scottish work ethic of work hard, play hard (not the usual stereotype portrayed in the written media  ;D but still very true today) not the party animal i used to be but i still work hard, the first line of the song is true, i am just home from a 48 hour shift and knackered. anyway i did the vox/lyric, then sent it to chunk for his okay. then kenny added the guitars. i'll post lyrics and any scottish words or terms you don't understand, i will be pleased to reveal their meaning.

okay let's party
i've been working 48 hours straight
i've been toiling
i've been toiling
working hard so i can play
so i can play hard
nose to the grindstone
nose to the grindstone
for some pennies in ma pockets
am sweating and am manky
durt ground in
am sweating and am manky
but i scrub up well
am gonna party
am gonna party
i work hard
so i can party
when i get home i'm gonna run a bath
look out some togs
you know some nice threads to wear
am gonna party
am gonna party
i work hard
so i can party
i'm gonna hit town like a kid on speed
oh a better take something ur'll fa asleep
am gonna party
am gonna party
i work hard
so i can party
hello there hen
and whit's your name?
are ye dancing?
aye! am asking
a like yer style
the way ye shake yer hips
but the night is still young
time tae party
i work hard
so i can party
am gonna party

(am gonna) party!

Greeny

Bloody fabulous. Funky as f*ck, and those vocal and guitar additions take it into the disco stratosphere. The spoken vocal sits so nicely with those backing vox harmonies. So very cool. Need another listen!

Redler

Cool funky stuff here with really solid tones!! Loved the harmonies - they're great on this!! Well done all of you!!

Love the outfits guys. It's nice to see you keeping it in the spirit of the groove, I'm thinking of doing a cover of Talking Heads- This Must Be The Place ( 'cos it's my fav Heads tune) maybe just the bassline and a beat. Maybe more . Would love you's to join in. Let's see what happens

Love the wah guitar on this Kenny. I't would be nice if you doubled up on the wee campy stabby chords with it. You know, the wee , do do do do do bits. ( spoken like a true muscian)

kenny mac

Actually wasn't double tracked that much'the lead runs are straight from one guitar ,I love funk music like the brothers Johnson 'STOMP etc and once you get into that fast waka waka groove you need to keep it pretty tight with the drum and bass.
I Realy added a second guitar to fill the space out.
You just keep your hand moving fast up n down like a fiddlers elbow lol.
Its actually put me in the mood to get an original funk song written:)

I was at the swimming as usual today and had the waterproof mp3 on for some motivation and in popped this one and spurred me on for another several lengths .
I love the collaboration side of this site and most of the stuff ,because you are writing with someone else ,it take on a different slant and swimming away listening to this I felt quite proud to be a part of it.
3 scottish lads belting out some Glaswegian funk and it felt Brawwww .   Bump ;D
