It's time to vote for our next two festivals which will run from January 3 to February 28. Voting starts now and runs for 3 days. You can change your vote any time until the closing of the poll on January 3rd. To do so, click "Remove vote" to cancel your previous vote, then vote again.

This poll is for the "Artists/Covers" festival. There is a separate poll for the "Theme/Genre" festival here:

Please vote in both polls.

Descriptions of some of the less-obvious choices:

SwitchedOnClassicalFest - Rocked out versions of tunes by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc. Optionally, add your own lyrics.

Off the Beaten Track - Covers of obscure songs that never charted or are not well known. These could be by bands that didn't make it very big outside of their local area, so their songs wouldn't be known by most of our members. Or, they could be songs by popular bands that didn't make it onto their regular albums or singles (outtakes, bootlegs, B-sides, songs they only ever played live, etc). Or just about anything by a one-hit wonder except their one hit.

British Invasion - Covers of songs from the British Invasion era (Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Animals, Dave Clark Five, Hollies, Herman's Hermits, Troggs, etc.) See this Wikipedia page for a more complete list of artists.

Public Domain fest - Covers of any songs whose copyright has expired. This varies according to the country. In the USA, songs published before 1923 are now in the public domain. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain_in_the_United_States, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries%27_copyright_length, and http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en#hl=en&q=public+domain+songs

MusicYouHateFest - Silk purse from a sow's ear. Make a great song out of a really awful song.

I've changed the "Gone but not forgotten" option to "Fleetwood Mac". We can try "Gone but not forgotten" again for a future festival vote when we've had time to decide who the six deceased artists will be.
