My brother has been kind enough to lend me his BR 800. This is the first song I ever recorded alone. The song was written some years ago and has been recorded by Geir and me earlier, but as far as I know never posted. This is also my first atempt a guitar solo.

Family friend

She was four when it all began. Her song was never sung.
She has never, never told - that she was left alone.

He was a family friend. They were loving him right to the end.
She was four when it all began. Her song was never sung.
He was a family friend. They were loving him right to the end.

She was ten when she wanted to tell. But their lives was going to well.
They could never. never understand. That she was living in hell.

He was a family friend. They were loving him right to the end.
She was ten when she wanted to tell. But their lives was going to well.
He was a family friend. They were loving him right to the end.

Solo

When she was grown her secret was out. Her song was finally sung.
There was a needle in her arm, he could do her no more harm.

He was a family friend. They were loving him right to the end.
When she was grown her secret was out. Her song was finally sung.
She was leaving us all behind, and we loved her all the time.

magic jarle, you sound remarkably like geir at times, but it's all you brother. fabulous. it's not fair all that talent in one family. in fact i think that particular br800 has been sprinkled with magic dust when i think of all the people i know that have used or appeared on it.

you and your brother.
me.
greeny.
flash harry.
tharek.
aca.
those are the folk that i know have been recorded directly into it. then all the folk magically imported into it. launched, tony w and i am sure a whole lot more.

anyway i digress. i wish someone would loan me a br800.

Glad you finally managed to connect the br800 to the computer. I've been looking forward to getting to hear this a while now. And I'm sure not disappointed ! Excellent recording of a great song brother (hmmmmm ... Sounds weird to say brother to my own brother .... If that makes any sense .... Probably not ...... ) your performance here is much better than the first we did. Especially the vocals. And you sure have picked up a few production tips during our many recording sessions. This is really good !

Oh ...... And you better get yourself your own br soon, this inspires me to record again.

Oh crikey this is a really difficult subject matter and you handled it very well, without being overly sentimental or dramatic. A great job, I hope to hear a lot more from you.

Thank you for your nice comments.

The lyrics is about some children I used to know. Not all their stories ended this way, but they still have to live with their histories.

Yes Geir I will get my own BR, so I really hope James is wrong about the magic sprinkle. :)
