2 versions of same song

I liked the laid back groove. The top one (with the percussion) sounds better to me, but it does have a few spots of vocal track distortion on it. That simple drum track really makes a difference in the feel of the track. Pretty good songwriting.

Hook

Nice song, welcome! There are things I like about both tracks and you can see you coming to grips with the tune in the 2nd. There is a bit of clipping on the vocals on both tracks but much less on the 2nd. What do you record with?

i record direct with micro br. sometimes i use my crappy mike, but mostly i use the condensor mic for vox. i'll probably invest in a Shure when i get the Br-80(soon i hope). Thanx T.C, and Hook, i appreciate critiques good and bad,it only helps the process!
