Nice work here. Reminds me of the Kingston Trio.

What did you use to make your recording?

I am pretty sure I just used the onboard mic on my MacBook, as my MBR is down.
I was trying to give it a meandering, cold sort of feeling, like walking through a deserted cemetery on a cold dark night, so I think I had two tracks (stereo) of the guitar part with a little echo filter, and then a track of me making a crappy trumpet/sax sound into my cupped hands, and then the two vocal parts with some filters.

I'd like it to sound a little cleaner, but I tend to get a song in my head (especially if its one of the simpler Ween ones), get it recorded, mess with it for a while and add layers, and then get bored with it and just say, "Aw, fuck it. Here it is."
Okay to cover.

Another one I haven't heard the original of... :-[
Anyway, this certainly has a 'haunting' feel to it, even listening to it through appalling laptop speakers.
Reminded me in spades of Tom Waits on a good day. Well worth a listen. Well done.  8)

Had to listen again. Definitely a haunting melody. I can feel the counterpoint dancing around the vocal.
