since this sounds like it's in the early stages of development, let me ask you this; did you use a metronome or did you freehand it?

i don't know if you have listened to the song you did,

"Against You - Against Me"

http://microrecorders.org/community/collaborations/dem-posted-some-lyrics/0/?action=dlattach;attach=1544

but when i did the bass track on it, it sounded like you have a good sense of timing as it is. i had Flash critique my part and we both agreed that i'm close, on my timing.

and... since i'm new to this bass stuff, i'm very critical of myself when it comes to my bass parts and tying a song together with my timing. or... i can wait if you want to lay down something more final before i add some bass.

let me know

no it's all freehand. beleive me my recording talents are weak due to my laziness of learning the br properly. I'm more of the spur of the momment person. something gets in my head and I just lay it down to what feels right.

You should add the bass as is. It's all about the feel.

Thanks all for the comments.
Why don't we do it on the road?

This is great - and the lift at the chorus is just superb. Not being funny, but this is so deserving of a full production with drums and harmonies and the full works. Maybe that's just the way I hear things in my head, but I can hear that chorus really soaring...

Tim, can you take this further the way it is?

I'll have to stick it on the BR and digest it a bit more. Harmonies and bass would probably be OK as it stands, but you'd have to go back to recording against a metronome and know the bpm to add any drums...

I can add live drums at a later date.

Wow. I missed this one. Very powerful, great use of effects. Look forward to hearing more if you guys get it together.

Cheers,

knock your socks off tim.

my metronome question was really intended for future drums if needed. (wink, wink - nudge, nudge)

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Got the idea I like it?? Can't wait for the finished version!!!!
I saw this last night but was a bit tired to reply ( completely knackered actually). I'd had to make a trip to Manchester and back. Stuck in traffic for about an hour on the M6 round Birmingham on the return, last 30 odd miles round country roads in thick fog, lucky to be able to see 10 feet ahead sometimes. Just what I needed to finish off a 600 mile round trip :(

I've had a word with Mike, and he agrees, ( although I really like the sound he's got for this, and his voice) this'd be interesting with female vocals, so any ladies out there fancy giving it a go?
I was thinking maybe Pat Benatar/Pink type sound, you know, Rock-chicky type thing?
He can redo the backing without vocals.
