Here's my latest collaboration with Voodoo John.

It's our version of Goo Goo Muck, by Ronnie Cook & The Gaylads, but also covered by The Cramps.

Recorded on a Boss BR600 (me) & BR800 (him).
I supplied drums & keyboards (iPad, Garageband), Bass & Rhythm Guitar (BR600).
He supplied Lead Guitar & Vocals (BR800).
Final mix on the BR600, by me.

Voodoo John liked it so much, he make a special Xmas Video

Thanks Haylie. I think Voodoo John was inspired with the video.
I'm hoping to get him to sign up for this forum ... But he's so shy & retiring ;-)

Treat yourself my friend & look up The Cramps. Their version is a true masterpiece.
Thanks for your kind words.

Gotta say I'm enjoying my good friend Voodoo John's video ... It's way beyond anything I could do.
I'm also enjoying working with him. He adds that special blend of herbs and spices :)

Did he have to buy the glove especially? - probably best not answer that one!

Excellent collab guys. I really like the vibe with this - its very stylized and has a retro but modern sound (if you know what I mean). Really enjoyed the listen and an interesting vid to go with the track :-)

Answer ... No problem. Apparently he's had the glove for nearly 30 years & made it when the 1st Freddie film came out (his words) :o

Cheers, it's an old 60's song, covered by The Cramps in the late 70's/80's. Glad you liked our version.

No, no ... Thank-you ... Glad you like it

Incidentally for the geeky types among us (that definitely includes me), I used iPad Garageband for the drums (2 kits), percussion, retro organ & piano, (buried keyboards down in the mix as too cheesy upfront), before exporting to BR600 to record the bass & rhythm guitars. Gave the finished backing tack to VJ, using Dropbox. He recorded 2 guitar lines & 2 vocals on a BR800 & drop boxed them as wav files. I imported them & added to the backing track on the BR600 then inserted mastering effect for final mix.
The surprise was when John Facebook messaged me to say a video was on the way ... And what a splendid job he made of it too!!

Cheers for the comments everyone
:)
