Accidently posted this in the other recorders area so moving it here...

All on microBR, 1 track with built in mic of drums, 3 tracks of 8 string bass, and two guitar tracks. I think something got otally buried in teh submix, I am out of time as I need to wake up for work in 7 hours and will probably delete it when I hear it with new ears tomorrow.

First attempt at playing in 7/8 on drums and recording riffs/patterns over it in notes, trying to change into 4/4 from it is where it eventually fades as I still am forcing it and trying to learn the feeling.

what an absolutely kick ass song - i love it when the envelope of music gets pushed. I'm working on some stuff that's out there and this gave me the kick in the ass to push forward with my experiments. thanks, cuz it's what i needed.

WOW. This is fantastic. Are you sure you haven't listened to much King Crimson? You should, also try the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum if you don't know them.

This is really, really good. Great sound from the BR as well. Don't think there's much wrong with this mix.

Cheers,

Nigel

Oh how cool. No, don't delete  ;)

Such a weird feel, I really like from 100 to the end, such good work.

I have got to get a bass lol.

that would not be out of place on the "Starless & Bible Black" album.

Im a big fan of trippy time sig's!! Im limited to 4/4 using the BR drums at the moment. But I still try and write off-time guitar tracks over 4/4 drums  ;D

Thanks for the responses.... yeah I only really started listening to King Crimson over the last couple weeks, a drummer I work with insisted I check them out etc. I have been listening to Rush ever since I could remember though which was helpful for getting used to odd time signatures, which is still new to me for the direction I would like to take them.

So cool! Your music has got such great presence and I love the dark shadows....which reminds me, have you come up with anything yet for the flamenco piece? I'm really looking forward to it.
