Le béton, c'est effectivement une matière concrète, ancrée dans le monde physique, dans la réalité physique...
"Béton" is a concrete thing who belongs to the physical world, a part of the the physical reality... Is that what you mean?

In french, the word "concrete" is a synonym of "real"...
