I'm in shock. Take a gander at this...

Those of you who have been around a while might recall that Everett was the other guitarist in the electric version of The Museum of Oddities, a motley collection of buddies that used to get together every third Thursday or so to make some noise. You also might recall that he started making guitars for himself and his son.

We folded the tent on electric MoO for the time-being, but Everett and I still talk regularly. He was adamant about getting together for a beer last week and that he had to show me something. I figured he wanted to show me his latest creation, and I was right...

So I'm checking it out, appreciating the craftsmanship for a bit, and Everett says, "Check out the inlays."

I'm at the 5th fret, "Everett, this is amazing. Why aren't you selling these?" Then I'm at the 7th fret, "So exact. How do you get the mother of pearl in there so cleanly?" And then I see at the 12th fret...my initials. He totally got me. I think my exact words were, "You have got to be f'ing kidding me." I am still in a state of shock.

For the nerds of us out there, it's a mahogany body (yet still strangely light) with a maple cap. Rosewood fretboard. Separate volumes for pickups and a universal tone. The humbucker has a push/pull coil-tap on its volume control.
