Really ???  The version of "Father and Son" that I'm familiar with (from "Tea for the Tillerman") is acoustic. So what electric instruments did you unplug?

I can't believe we're nearly two weeks into our second UnpluggedFest and some people still don't know what unplugged means, despite the many times that I've tried to explain it.

It's not AcousticFest people! It's UnpluggedFest. You can't unplug it if it was never plugged in.

at the risk of being ostracized or even removed from the site -
i find the reply to trev - very rude and even if unintentionaly it singled out trev for the "strong" reply.
and rather than voice any more about it, and digging me in a deeper hole. i will leave it at that.

I did think it a tad strong but it's ok Frank i have a thick skin more like a Rhino....so no worries

I'm with Frank on this one.

Dear 64guitars - I can understand your frustration though taking that out on The Two Regs like that is something akin to shooting yourself in the foot. Reg is not the kind of member you want to make feel unwanted and have walk away.

And honestly I was stunned by such an impeccable a capella performance. Its not often you hear anything sung without accompaniment and his pitch never wavered one iota. (clap, clap, lights cigarette lighter and waves it in the air)

Trevor, I apologize if my frustration came off as rudeness. But is it any wonder that I'm frustrated when I've put a great deal of care and effort into explaining what unplugged is and isn't, many times, only to have people ignore it?

Right at the start of voting, I carefully explained it to prevent any misunderstanding:
https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=16708.msg208720#msg208720

Then, when UnpluggedFest 2 won the vote, I explained it again:
https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=15659.msg209159#msg209159

Despite these two very clear explanations, I found myself explaining it again:
https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=16776.msg209633#msg209633

and again:
https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=16848.msg210534#msg210534

and again:
https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=16850.msg210550#msg210550

Not only that, but this is our second UnpluggedFest and I explained the same thing many times during the first one. I'm a very patient person but my patience has a limit.

I put a lot of time and effort into this site. When it's demonstrated time and time again that some people aren't paying any attention to my posts, I get quite frustrated and wonder why I'm wasting my time. Again, I apologize if that frustration was interpreted as rudeness toward you. That wasn't my intention. I was only expressing my frustration in the hope that everyone will take notice so we can enjoy the rest of the festival without me having to keep explaining what an unplugged song is.

By the way, I don't know why you removed your song attachment. There was no need. It's not appropriate for UnpluggedFest but not every song has to be a festival submission.

sometimes, when you are frustrated, a good thing to do is to ask "How important is it?"

I understand why you are frustrated - but this is the internet - its like dealing with chaos in its purified concentrated form. No?

thetworegs

No problem 64....we all get frustrated from time to time ......maybe there's a song in it.....mmmmmmm....
