An under-ocean earthquake 26 miles below the surface. That is 137,280 feet.

Wrong.

The deepest part of the world's oceans is in the Mariana Trench. Approximately 36,200 feet, or 6.8 miles.
Anyone care to figure out the pressure per square inch at that depth?

I'm assuming the author actually meant the heart of the quake was 26 miles below the bottom of the ocean,
at that point. Still, I'd like to know what parameters were used to arrive at this number.

I wonder what Kickapoo Joy Juice the writer was on when he/she/it wrote the article.

"under ocean"  is "under" the deepest  or shallowest part of the ocean. what a tragedy. and i'd trust reuters a lot more than the likes of fox news.
