Bit of a long story how I came about this song, so I won't bore you with it but I was really struck by the first verse - she's leaving him and he's just laughing at her because she always comes back. So I've changed all the chords (because I can't play the original ones!) and I've added my own chorus to put my own twist on the story. Oh and I had real trouble recording this (it's a long time for me not to cock-up on the guitar and I've been trying to pick it)  - so it's a live rec on internal mics - 'live from the lounge' and er strummed!

Warning - country
Warning - non-standard chords
Warning - mash-up with original song

For those of you still brave enough to listen - enjoy x

"By the Time I Get to Phoenix" is the title of a song written by Jimmy Webb. Originally recorded by Johnny Rivers in 1965, it was made famous by American country music singer Glen Campbell, appearing as the opening track on the latter's 1967 album of the same name.

I've taken the original song as a whole (using modified chords), which consists of 3 verses and incorporated my own original chorus.

Always great vocals as usual from you. I do not know this song but you sure got a hold of that br-80 now.

You`re sounding alive and pure. :)

Not familiar with the original, but as always in your songs, there's very warm feel, like on this. Fine tune and performing!

Oh thanks Kari and Hook - I'm really chuffed - I like my chorus too (the original didn't seem to have one) - :)
