Recording a live and loud band… what I’ve learned so far

as an update to my post, i think it will be necssary to use both the compressor and limiter while recording. with just the limiter, i'm still getting some buzzy distortion (from i believe, the the bass guitar and the snare.) i have a feeling this can be solved with some compression during tracking. although the quality of the recording has skyrocketed vs. my previous attempts with all effects off.

here's a tip i've picked up for myself... write everything down.

my other let down is that everything sounds groovy on my sony headphones... up until i master to mp3, then it seems all the little buzzes turn into buzzsaws. i imagine this will go away if i ever get the original recording down correctly. stay tuned.

Hey did you use try to use the onboard mic for your rehearsal?
and how did you end up setting up the mic to get the live feed for the BR Track?
