Beatlesfest II: 'Isolation' by cuthbert

It's still a few minutes before midnight, so I'm getting this one in just under the wire...  

This is one of my favorites from the  John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band album, technically the third Lennon/Plastic Ono release, but the first real 'Lennon' album. If you haven't heard the album before, do check it out. It's chock full of great songs.

'Isolation' is not exactly a happy song, but if you know the album, you know John was working out some personal issues in it, and casting a new approach toward his songwriting. Like the other songs on the album, this one is honest and a little emotionally raw. I tried my best to capture some of that feeling in my vocal (and lucky me, I have a cold), so I hope I did it some justice.

Who needs a high e string! This is wonderful Cuth, you have really nailed this one. All instruments are beautifully played and blended together, and the level of production just enhances this further

Plenty of feeling in that vocal to my ears, a fabulous cover all round

Yo Yo Yo cuthbert, this is nothing short of incredible. I love this tune and you have done a wonderful job covering it. The emotion is so real and really invades the listener. No doubt in my mind that this is the best fest entry this go around, well done!

Thanks for the praise, folks - I appreciate it. To be honest, I was a bit insecure about posting this one, but now I'm glad I did.

And I may keep that acoustic guitar at 5 strings for a while - so far, it's bringing me good luck.
