Kiss You In Heaven
by David Bride
You left me here on my own, I don't know what to do,
Been so long since I've been alone, without you,

Time goes on, That's what they say,

I can't wait until the day I can kiss you in heaven baby,
Till then I'll just bide my time living in this world without you,

You were the one who always was beside me,
Life's so hard without you, I can't see,

Time heals all wounds, That's what they say,

I can't wait until the day I can kiss you in heaven baby,
Till then I'll just bide my time living in this world without you,

I know God he has a plan but I don't understand
Why he took you away and I've spent nights crying over,
I need you here to be with me forever,

But I will carry on cause I know you want me to,
Watch over me till I can be beside you,

Time goes on, That's what they say,

I can't wait until the day I can kiss you in heaven baby,
Till then I'll just bide my time living in this world without you

I haven't posted a song in awhile, this one was hard to write the lyrics for,
my cousin just lost her husband and he was only 35 years old.
So I tried to put myself in her shoes and tried to explain what
that kind of loss would feel like.

These words hit me. Tears in my eyes.

"Till then I'll just bide my time living in this world without you"

- that's really how it feels.

Sorry for your loss.

Yeah, I dig your tune also. I really love the instrumentation, that piano melody in the chorus floats my boat! Well written, touching lyrics; great job brother.
Rock on!

Thanks for all the great comments. The drums are a mix of drum machine and live floor toms and bass drum, I couldn't get the kind of sound I wanted from drum machine so this is the first time I added live drums to a recording, I am not much of a drummer so I kept it simple but i got the deep drums sound I was looking for.

A song with strong emotional content - that's a tough subject, not easy to tackle - but you did a super job.

Love those drums, I generally don't like drum machines, so adding some real drums make them sound a lot less stiff and mechanical.

Thoughtful song.

Hi David, my sympathies to your cousin, it was far too soon. You have provided a fitting tribute with this great song............Willie
