I have been playing for 18 months using you tube and the odd DVD and I have got more inspiration from you guys in the 20 hours logged on here( God it feels like I've been here forever).....
So a big thanks to all of you..... 8)

I saw this

Quote from: Witchita on February 03, 2009, 11:30:53 AMHere's a backer right up your alley.
I did a version a while back I called it swampy blues

And Tony J asked me to have a go...Here's his splendid solo

http://microrecorders.org/community/post-your-work/swampy-blues-t1219/0/

So I've girded my loins and dusted the old Strat off and using the lace sensor neck pick up with the tone dialed down and BR's Smoothlead given it a go...
I think it's OK but seems a bit repetitive.....
What do you think?.......

Realy very well played Mike. great tone and some great sounding phrases. i see you opted not to flood it with too many notes.
are you up for a country type backer?

Nice phrasing, nice thick tone from a strat.

I am in the same position as you, playing for about two years now, slowly improving, but since finding the MBR and recording and posting here my playing level has gone up a few notches.  Thanks to all for the encourgement and good natured jam alongs.

I am up for this, time to stretch a bit.  Great idea Tony.  I would love to give a country backer a try.

Nice mellow country sounding backer.  I am looking forward to playing with this and see what I can do.  Look for a post from me before the weekend is over.  Thanks

Only repetitive to you my friend.

Very well done.... only 18 months.... I'd say years listening.

I just had a chance to listen to this with some decent speakers. Damn, that lace sensor sounds sweet as molasses, forte!! Not repetitive to me. And yeah I edited some text --> 18 months years...haha, if only 18 months, you're one lucky sonnofagun.
