Thanks Alchemy!  I've got it all printed for further study.

Nice to have the weather warm up a little, huh!?!  I'm in Eau Claire, WI, not too far from you.  Enjoy!
Cheers!

The Roman numerals refer to the position and quality of the chords in a given scale.  The capital roman numerals (I, IV, V) are major chords, and the lower-case roman numerals (ii, iii, vi, vi) are minor chords.  The roman numerals can be augmented with modifiers (7, °, b5, etc.).  It's a great system.  It allows you to easily play a song in any key and transpose on the fly.

Wow, I've just started delving into theory myself. i've found this website particularly helpful for determing keys, scales, chords to play in any given situation.

http://www.jguitar.com

amazing tools to use for songwriting or songtabbing.

also, http://www.studybass.com  and it's certainly not just for bass. type in a key, and print out the fretboard (i call it a map of what you can play without going wrong...)

I just had time to so back and read some of the posts again.  Hey I think I get a little of it.  At least the minor pentatonic scale.  IN C is would be Am  And in G it would be Em.  And in F it would be Dm  etc.  Thanks for your help. :)
