Holy crap - can't believe it's been this long since I started on my basement "studio".
(I am ashamed to say I haven't really used it much)
There have been many conflicting interests and other issues over the last couple years, and I probably won't get this thing where I want it to be any time soon.

Anyways - I promised 64 some pics (a loooong time ago), so here goes.

You can see the original construction pics here:

The room is an "L" shape approximatly 7 feet wide where the desk is, 13 feet long, and then about 5 or 6 feet wide where the "L" is.

After finishing
pic 1 - This is where the desk is gonna go:

pic 2 - This is where the amps are gonna go:

pic 3 - This is where the drums are gonna go:

With equipment moved in.
pic 4 - This is the desk (not much more than a BR600 on it - I still mix everything with headphones)

pic 5 - Here is most of the gear I use (except the Crate - great cabinet though. Way better built than the Marshall):

pic 6 - Here is where the drums will go eventually (gotta get rid of the milk crates and other junk)

Anyways that's where I'm at so far.
It's a nice comfortable spot to sit and jam, and I can leave my mess without annoying anyone else in the house.

I do all vocals with a Shure SM58, and mic the amps with a SM57.
I always plug the mics straight into the BR600.

Also - my father-in-law helped me make the guitar hangers.
It is rubber-coated shovel hanger from HD screwed into a piece of oak (routered, and stained).
I screwed the oak directly to the wall studs using 3 /2 deck screws. I can hang from them!

pic 7 - You can make a hanger like this for under $10!

Hope you enjoy the pics.
Sorry took so long!
It ain't pretty being easy.

Looks fantastic Vann. Makes me want to break out my Handy Andy Tool Set and make my own basement studio.

How are the acoustics? It would be a shame to cover that gorgeous floor with a rug but I suspect the room might be too bright-sounding otherwise. Maybe some heavy wall hangings or acoustic panels instead?

Although, you probably don't want that floor to get scratched by your gear, so a couple of rugs might be a good idea.

Such a kewl space buddy... You do great work... such a beauty room. If you haven't looked already the acoustic paneling can eat your lunch in $$$... I was able to treat all of my walls top to bottom  using this method... can't remember the exact cost.... but I ended up getting some  pricey fabric to cover them with.... Here's the same concept I used, but I built a grid directly on the wall outside of the sheet rock.... and simply filled with insulation and covered with the fabric using stapels.... I wouldn't recomend that now that I have done it. I would used the panels I think you could probably build these for around $30.00 US... it works great for my drums.... I also used R7 insulation board (Rigid) which is quite a bit more expensive. Really helps with all of the overtones you get from acoustic drums. I don't like to use dampeners on my drum heads... I think that kinda defeats the purpose of a drum.... I like hear some tone in the drum... sustain and all... Might be of interest for you. They are worth the time for sure!!!

BTW... Those guitar hangars were a great idea... I'm so glad you posted... I was trying to think of a hangar that would work and never got around to making any... Problem solved.... thanks Vann great job!!!

Lookin' good Vann. Projects like this often go in spurts. My bet is you'll dive in at some point over the winter and knock it out. You are a guy who doesn't need alot of equipment. You have talent in spades and have posted some incredibly good tunes on this site. I assume you just usb your BR600 into a laptop?
Don't feel guilty 'cause the studio isn't done yet...everything happens in it's own time...
