yeah, the voice should have its own track... use the UTILITY button to export the vox as a separate mp3 file. It'll load and sync up with all the other tracks. Then I can mix it up. I think mixing is half the fun of this thing.

If you don't want to post just a vocal track, maybe you could use the backing tracks I posted, the one without those annoying guitars.

Either way, I really appreciate you working on this with me.

okay, ive redone the song with slightly altered lyrics, i'll post new version here then in following post i will post the vocal track on its own for mr scar to tinker with. everything should no be in sync for ou mr scar as i imported original mp3 via br convertor software.
so here is the lyric.

cornfield.

there's a baby in the cornfield
black cat in the hot sand
there's a drunk lying in the gutter
with a warm beer in his hand

and i think back to my mother
when she held me in her arms
she gave me warmth and succor
protected me from harm

what led me down this narrow road
and sent me off the tracks
i've burned too many bridges
so there's no turning back

the doors all close behind me
locked without a key
there's no-one else that i can blame
it's all been down to me

maybe i can change my habits
tho it might take me a while
teaching old dogs new tricks
has never been my style

i've always had a temper
i'm nasty and im gnarled
an old has been
who never was
and never probably will

so don't go down the narrow road
don't go off the beaten track
keep to the straight and wide boulevards
you can always come back

and don't go into cornfields

here is the vocal track, this time done in one take so click at beginning and end only this time easily trimmed mr scar.
used in built mic with for nylon setting so lots of echo and reverb, you can even hear music from my headphones.
should be in sync with original recording you could even put it over version without lead then play guitar to the vocal and see wot happens. here you go.

Are you saving it from cubase as an MP3? Or, are you saving it as a WAV file then converting it to MP3 elsewhere?

The sample rate of this file is definitely 32kHz, as was "Too Near The Sun".  If you're saving it as a 44.1kHz WAV file then converting it to MP3, the converter must be changing the sample rate. If you're saving it directly from cubase as an MP3, then I can only assume that the sample rate setting of 44.1kHz that you see applies to WAV files, not MP3s. You may have to look elsewhere in cubase to find the sample rate setting for MP3s.

Also, this might help:

Beautiful track....thanks ol'rotten. I'm mix up some more with it. I'm thinking we should get a real drummer track to replace the BR rthythm. Maybe some percusion or yeah a full kit. And yeah, if we can get 13Starz to do some guitar, maybe swop out the uke for some electric chord sounds.

Maybe we can have a world mix, kind of a cybergypsyrock thing

This whole operation is so smooth...and over the seas. Gotta love it.
