Been a while since I've written anything and dusted off the BR-800 but here goes.  It's an acoustic ballad about  moving on after the end of relationship.  First time double track recording my acoustic with an X/Y guitar mic.  Still experimenting to get my mixes right. I look forward to the critiques as always.    Here are the lyrics:

Halfway to Somewhere
 c 2012

I didn't know the sky had fallen, and the sun had disappeared,
The aftermath of loving you, was everything I feared.
The countless times I found myself, with one foot out the door,
Holding on to one last hope, could you give a little more?

Chorus:
Halfway to somewhere,
No place I've ever been,
Riding the breeze and breathing again.

(V2)
There was nothing I could offer you, to fill those voids inside,
So many years gone unfulfilled, I did not realize.
It was long before I knew you, life's scars had left their mark,
And shadows that surrounded you, had left us in the dark

repeat chorus

(V3)
I wish things had been different, another place or time,
You could have been my meter,   I'd have been your rhyme.
I've not one ounce of anger, not one ounce of regret,
No plans for what may lie ahead, no words left unsaid.

 (chorus)
Halfway to somewhere,
To no place I've ever been,
Riding the breeze and breathing again.

I'm halfway to somewhere,
No place I've ever been ,
Halfway to somewhere a new day begins.

I didn't know the sky had fallen, and the sun had disappeared.
"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby

Well done!

Powerfull (at the beginning) and fine also (at 2:58 - 3:25) rythm guitar accompaniament.... warm vocals

I think this mix is perfect, the right balance between guitar and voice

Your lyrics contains a truth in itself... authenticity. I have already lived these feelings
