PhotoFilmStrip - Easy way to make music videos from still images?

I was just reading about this free program called PhotoFilmStrip.

http://www.photofilmstrip.org/1-1-Home.html

It sounds like it would provide an easy way to make music videos out of a bunch of still images. Includes "Ken Burns"-style transitions.

Available for WinXP/Vista/Win7 and Linux. Ubuntu users can get it from the repositories (Ubuntu Software Centre). It's written in Python and the source code is available, so I would imagine that Mac users could run it too.

But how easy is Windows Live Movie Maker when you just want to use still images in your video? That was the point of my post. PhotoFilmStrip is designed solely for that purpose. It doesn't do video clips or any fancy stuff so it's extremely easy to use. You merely select the images you want to include, select the audio file, then click the Render button. That's it! It creates an AVI file that plays your MP3 and shows your images with Ken Burns style motion effects and fades between pictures. Very simple to use and the results are excellent. Of course, if you want more control, you can rearrange the order of the images, choose different transitions, and so on. But you can also get very good results with just the defaults.

Some of our members are not very good with computers and probably don't need a full-featured video editing program. For them, PhotoFilmStrip could be just the ticket.

Try it. It's free, so you've nothing to lose.

Really easy! My daughter showed me how to use it and she was 5 years old at the time. She is 6 now.

You can also try masher.com to create a video out of short clips and pictures. I did one to the song 'desert rain' (from my 2010 song a week effort.)  It wasn't super easy, but it did work. The more I think about it the more 64's suggestion sounds better. But it's an option. Especially for those who don't want to download a program onto their computer.

I'll try to link here and see what happens.

i made still imaged vids for some of my songs for yuotube. to stretch it out i would repeat several of the same image for length again and again, unless you have a shitload of images to use, then you wont have to repeat an image.
