chunk posted the instrumental here  https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=16451

added some words and has become a song about depression, i might add not from personal experience, i am currently in a good place in case anyone started worrying about me. ;D ;D had to shrink to fit

my dark heart
beating cold and dangerous thoughts
this black cloud
drowning out the light around me
i'm cold inside
too cold to touch
in this instance
i am distant
just leave me alone
to work things out
just leave me be
my dark heart
my dark heart
my dark heart
my dark heart
my dark heart
poisonous and fearful
an icy stone
trapped inside
lustful and regretful
tormented
tossing and turning
lost deep in thought
total distraction
leading to destruction
i don't know what's eating at me (my black heart) etc
tossing and turning
lost deep in thought
total distraction
leading to destruction
tossing and turning
lost deep in thought
total distraction
leading to destruction
dark heart

Lots of talk about bumping lately, if this one isn't worthy of a bump I don't know what is. What a beauty from the past... super music and a great vocal from ORH.

Debated listening to the instrumental first but ultimately decided against it to go in cold and judge it as-is. Your vocals really suit it, love the delivery and all feels very natural. Love the instrumentation too. I'm a sucker for good moody songs, and this ticks all the boxes for me. Glad I got chance to hear it

Wow big sound.... did I read this right? You posted this 2012? Where are all the comments that should accompany this masterful song..... I am amazed at how big it sounds, the instrumentation and your pocket ripe vocals are amazing!

The percussion is so captivating... the B3 totally fits....

I am being transported (wine I am consuming helps) but this is so GOOD! It may be about depression but I get a defiance mood from it.  I tend not to concentrate on lyrics but the whole package.... I treat the vocal as an instrument... this all fits perfectly.  Such great writing and a terrific collaboration.

I am so glad to be part of this group to hear such gems.

I see the date of this posting end of Sept 2012 ~ had just moved to American Samoa...  I see that this was a bump - great song, and you had me with the percussion and guitar w/in the 1st 17 secs...is this digital percussion or actual?==> love it ~~~ James as always = great lyrics and vox.  Cheers from this side ~ Abrazos
