The Thinking Room

Thank you all for the comments.  I thought I would get pulled to pieces because I dont write cheerfull songs and they drag on.  I am relativley new to the song writting game but I try and create music you can escape into.  Reffering back to an earlier comment on how I record my songs I record them on a standard PC using a recording suite that my dad gave me years ago called magix 2005 deluxe edition.  I play everything into the PC through the microphone socket and layer the instruments up as the song goes along.  I also use a Yammaha guitar effects processor which I sing through as well as the guitar and keyboard.  The audio samples I use are downloaded from a website call the internet archive/old time radio and then are put on to an ipod and then played into the PC through the microphone socket. Then when they are on the screen I chop them and position them where I want them on the song.  I got the idea from listening to Pink Floyd for many years. I have already recorded 4 other songs that are all ten minutes long and similar in style and they are available to listen to on Youtube under the channel name thethinkingroom1. Thanks again for the positive feedback and more songs will be added as I record them...
Mark.

I dig it & welcome! very cool, ethereal, kinda melts inside you and becomes a part of you. It 's good to have a room, mine seems to be my car as of late. I look forward to more.

Hi Mark - welcome to Songcrafters and what a fabulous post. Obviously you are well used to recording and I think your vox sounds great. If you want to put large files on here you can host them at other sites such as Alonetone, Reverbnation, Soundclick, Soundcloud etc (I won't advise how to do it as I usually miss something real vital out but there are instructions here if you search and use the icons in the message).
