dobrodaddy posted the instrumental version here https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=16225.0 i couldn't resist. ended up singing dry with no effects to try and keep it as natural as dobrodaddy's post.

as a scotsman it is a song that resonates well with me what with our long winters and brief summers so sung in a light scottish brogue.
took a couple of takes , dobrodaddy was breathing and it sounded at times like someone in the next room shouting "james"  ;D ;D

Oh I can't listen to it yet, there's something wrong with my headphones and it's coming out of the speakers and my darling husband is trying to watch a film booo, boooo. Will download and listen on my ipod - what I did hear of it sounded beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous James!  Thank you!  I have a bit of familiarity w the long nights and long days up north.  The sun does become very special.  Hard to keep my breathing out of my guitar recording...  maybe I was secretly calling your name LOL!  DD
