Just got this track back from Hook - the man knocks them out the park constantly. Thanks Bro.

I've come to the conclusion that mastering early or twice doesn't work well. I like the punchier sound of the mastered tracks - I sent this one to Hook mastered - he's sent me the mixed track (uploaded) - and the separate vox and melodica tracks. I need to mix these in into the base mix and then re-master overall. I think this will re-balance the mix, and make all the instruments blend in better. Also I want a bit more punch on the bass! I will do this tomorrow. But I wanted to upload as I am really happy with this track

found over the years when collabing if, you are not sending out individual tracks for mixing, but  are sending completed parts back and forth to one another, it's best not to use any mastering tools until the final mix.

Thanks Facemask - that's the first outing for my new Brook :-) Solo was done on my JV 1982 Fender Squire Strat which I've had from new!
