I think I have a tip that might work, ....

try to just read the lyrics to the music, use the rhythm that feels natural, maybe start by having the music quite low on your ear while reading it, get the feel of the words, ....  try exaggerating the feeling when you read it (and try the opposite), ... then start singing the melody, but try to THINK that your speaking the words ... switch back to reading if it doesn't work right away, and try again ....

maybe it's just bullshit, but it works for me sometimes ;D

No doubt Haylie  ;D

Just in case anyone wants to hear the original track thought I'd add it, don't think I had posted it before. I had thought to add a few more guitar harmonies, though if vocals come not sure that would be a help. Please, if anyone wants to play with it and try their own vocals ideas (or anything else) feel free, I'd love to hear anything anyone does.

Hey Ray, this is coming along good. I like your voice and this music is really good!!!

I basically do what you are doing. If i don`t have a song fully completely done, I`ll record the music and write as i go along until things come to me. You have the ability to take this music wherever you go, so live it, and breathe it ,and practice singing it till you are happy with what you have done. Record it, listen to yourself and make changes to whatever you feel needs work. It can happen quickly or slowly. Whatever it may be just let it flow and don`t think too much. That`s just my 2 cents on how i do it.

Awesome song man and when it`s finished, be sure to post it back here. I`d like to hear the finished product! :)

Cheers!

Hiya Ray - well I thought I'd put my money where my mouth is and give it a go. I can't write to someone else's music (that really would be funny for all the wrong reasons) but I can improvise and I thought I'd try and show you different rhythms and counter-melodies. Well here it is (!) - I also put an echo on by mistake but have left it is as I quite liked it. (Recorded on internal mics) Not sure whether this is much help though as we are all 'unique'.

Best of luck with the song - I'm looking forward to hearing your acoustic songs too.
