Memory Cards

Just wondering what those of you with the MicroBR are doing for memory cards? I need some badly, and am having a hard time locating any small enough.. are there any online sources that you know of (even Ebay had nothing)? I think I saw someone say they were running a 2GB in the BR, but don't know how... every time I try one bigger than 1GB it locks on the song loading screen.

i have a kingston 2gb  standard sd card. i have also had success with 4gb generic (unbranded) sd cards from my local pc store. had a google found these on ebay

Seriously?? You had a 4GB one working? I thought only 1GB would do, that is awesome.

the microbr only recognises up to 1gb of data. so although it was a 4gb card, microbr only recognises 1gb of the card. so a 4gb or 2gb card when used with microbr  in effect becomes a 1gb card.

does that make sense.

like i said ealier i currently have a 2gb card in my micro br and it works fine.

Yep... makes sense and is fine with me... just did not think anything larger would even work.

As 64 said in some post in some topic some time ago that I'll never find, any card should work as long as it is in the older SD design and not SDHC. I have had a 4GB and 2GB card work. Thought I had an 8GB working but I was mistaken. The highest size card that can be used is 4GB I believe.

Anything 8GB or larger would be in the SDHC design, which is not compatible. That is the bummer - They're not making SD cards anymore so it's really not a size concern.

I wonder if it's a hardware or software issue that prevents an SDHC card from working.
