Actually, I like Living Colour but I don't think I'd like black metal. To each his own.

Black metal is generally very fast(drummer gets a workout) and big on distortion,distinctive vocals(lots of screaming un stuff). Typically the songs are lyrically pretty offensive. They also sometimes use orchestrations to great effect.
