@Rata-tat-tat - the drum track is somewhat cheating, I mean it's where the "studio" trickery is  -  It's a mixture of, generally, three sources (can't remember exactly which in this song, at least two of those):

- The MBR drum machine with the 808 patch. Recorded using "bounce" in the MBR
- The Casiotone MT-70 rythm patterns (very analog-like sounding). Recorded via the GUITAR input
- A live pair of bongos played with a drumstick and a plastic toy maracca (in fact an egg shaker with a handle) doubling for a second drumstick (I know, weird, but it works) (this is easily distinguishable in the mix as it is panned to the right). Recorded via the onboard mic (lowering the sensitivity!)

When mixing, I blend those together and apply tape compression :-) I use this free plugin: VTAPE Saturator which gives the warmy, nice sound.
