Spent last night getting used to the MBR and this is my first recording on it. I dig it quite a bit and will probably elaborate in another post but back to the tune! Mixed and mastered on the mbr, but removed some noise, normalized and used leveler in Audacity!
2 guitar tracks
1-guitussion
1-bass
1- thumbjam bass drum
1- thumbjam trumpet (muted)
1-vocal

"Tell"
written & performed by Hook
A monster of a man controls tragedy
He wields it in his hands, the worlds in jeopardy

        The images we must confront
Our peaceful world is so violent
Is there a safe place for us to dwell
         Fear's become so very strong
So little right while much is wrong
These are not the stories I want to tell

Is this darkness something inside each of us
Waiting to gain control & shut you out

        The images we must confront
Our peaceful world is so violent
Is there a safe place for us to dwell
         Fears become so very strong
So little right while much is wrong
These are not the stories I want to tell

Somewhere, sometime
We let fact & fiction collide
Seduced by a darker side
Power, greed & pride
While time & time
we just watch the decline
as it parades right by

A monster of a man controls tragedy
He wields it in his hands, the worlds in jeopardy

        The images we must confront
Our peaceful world is so violent
Is there a safe place for us to dwell
         Fear's become so very strong
So little right while much is wrong
These are not the stories I want to tell

Cool, this has a new vibe for you, loved the sounds you're getting on thumb jam, the trumpet has definately got that mexican mariachi sound which I really like.

Great first recording on the MBR too!! ;D

Hell yeah!! You are not even well on you way - You're already there!! Great recording, you got the hang of it like I knew you would.

I forgot to tell you the one peeve I have with that thing, not a biggie but something to get used to:

You have to zero out the reverb on the input side if you like to record dry first (Otherwise it will also automatically preset the reverb on your recording channels), and you have to turn off delay with a lot of the guitar presets. I see you have that already figured out and the other things I listened for but couldn't hear either ;D And I'm not embellishing, you really came out of the box running and I love it!!

Well that didn't take you long. You only got the Micro BR yesterday! Well done.

And a great song. The trumpet and percussion has a cool sixties vibe, I think. But when the vocals come in it sounds more modern. I like it!

Thanks guys, for the nice comments. I've gotten pretty good at figuring my way around these little recorders and the best way to learn is to track out some tunes. I'm loving the mbr but am surprised at the lack of acoustic guitar settings and the JC chorus effect isn't he same as my 900 and that's one of my staples. I'll have to mess around with he pre-sets, do edits to the effects save on the mbr permanently or just in the song? I'm sure it's in the manual. The reverb seems different also? Whats with all the delay on the vocals pre-sets.
All in all it's thousands of times better than what I had but I'm just getting used to the level settings which is the biggest difference to any other unit I've used. Love the microphone but might have to get one of those mini condenser mics.

Bruno, yes the vocals and drums were done with the internal mic.

ORH- they're there, keep listening...........listen harder................

Thanks again for the comments, they are always appreciated!

Killer vocal and awesome mix.

So, you're a thumbjam junkie too. I have to try it one day.
