Love this groove brother. I was plucking the uke a little while listening and might give a little go at this also. Family coming into town tonight but will put on my mbr later and see what happens.

Just messing around with more vocals - Probably ruined it, but I got the urge!

I put a single drum patch on it because I was sick of the click track, can't wait for your ankle to heal up Tod.

Gheetah anybody?

Quote from: Speed Demon on July 28, 2012, 11:29:48 AMThe playback speed wandered a bit, from 106 bpm to 105 bpm, and back again.
I fixed that. This track now plays at 106 bpm.

I'm going to tinker around with some guitar tracks for it.

What did you use to fix that - out of interest?

Ha I'd like to know too, as I used the metronome on the MBR! Can't believe it's not accurate :o

BTW, it is tracked at 105BPM, and that's how it will be tracked.

I used Audacity to alter playback speed of the track.

Interesting that you mentioned the playback should be 105 bpm, as the song started out at 106 bpm.
That's why I changed the 105 areas to 106. I assumed that was supposed to be the correct playback rate.

I clocked the track using the metronome in the eBand, and a soft metronome in my iPod.
They both agreed on the timing, and neither one could accurately clock the track from beginning to end
until I modified it.

Hmm, I had been playing to a metronome at 105 all along (Indicated in the notes). It might be my bass playing, and I wouldn't doubt that it wasn't perfectly in time, off by .5 BPM here and there. And I thought I was tight, I let everybody down! ;D

You didn't let anyone down. The difference is how each of us hear and relate to sound, and reaction time on your instrument.

I've never played a track in my entire life that didn't require editing and synching to the bed track.
Its just the nature of the beast.

Considering that the speed of sound at sea level can vary according to atmospheric conditions, 760 mph or more,
and electrical impulses your brain sends to motor functions travel at approximately 240 mph, its not surprising
that what we play frequently does not match the clicks of the metronome, nor is it a perfect match to the rest
of the band when playing live. Very close, but not perfect. Editing fixes those differences.
