Hi Hook,

What is even crazier are his 9 string microtonal death metal shed machine guitars

Wow!

Can't listen to clips while I'm at work, but I've just been all round their site.

I've come across fanned-fret guitars (although I've not played one myself). I understand that you get used to fanned-frets very quickly - somehow I reckon that changing the number of notes in the octave might be a little more challenging... Or maybe it's liberating?

Not sure it's something I'd go for myself, I'm interested in listening to the clips though...

Something new to me, and very interesting. I will have to read up on this. I got a Turkish Baglama Saz last year, and believe it is also 15 notes per octave, takes some getting used t how to use the microtones hat aren't in western music, but really nice to try, Thanks for posting the track, really cool possibilities here.

This is crazy - that fan neck was out of this world.
I don't understand how would even start to play that shred machine! No idea  :o

Interesting piece, interesting instrument - that really screws with my head, cos it sounds like it not in tune, but it is - goes to show how ingrained western scales are into our brains. I think its easier to listen to when the sound is an eastern instrument or alien sounding rather than a clean guitar sound I suspect!
