Geir gets some outstanding recordings with his internal mics on the BR - Both Sides Now springs to mind. He's obviously got a different timbre to his vox and probably has a bigger car!

Sounds great, well done!! I don't know the original either, but I'll take this version as that!

Regarding your MBR batteries, sometimes they last, sometimes they don't! Get a couple pairs of rechargeables and recharge one set while you are using the other. I have a usb to ciggy lighter adapter for the car that works very well. It's not much money, about $15 US with the USB charger and you can recharge 100 times or better.

To be honest I wasn't expecting any interest with this one so it's a great surprise to receive all your lovely comments - thanks guys :)

Mark - what a great idea, why didn't I think of that (palm on forehead!)

Quote from: AndyR on June 28, 2012, 03:02:31 PMI have had people say they'd like me to post some of those raw demos...

I've got some Amy Winehouse demos with just her and a guitar (as you might have realised by now I've got a bit of a penchant for such versions) and she absolutely kills the vocals and then says 'was that alright'. I love them.

Haylie I loved this song, I have to agree with Andy about the guitar suiting the car more than you vocal, but still a lovely cover all the same. Personally I think all you car recording people are mad! Hook, Geir and now you! However I sympathise, I always have trouble with my vocal recordings, and after 8 months now I still end up unhappy half the time, so whatever works for you!

Thanks Andy but I don't think I'll be repeating the experiment! I've recorded another one today which I haven't got round to posting yet - Songbird - with the patented AndyR method of Rode positioning, I think it's much improved. You've got an awesome vox by the way and you sure can shred that guitar :)

I'm not sure it's mine... I think it's the way the "proper" people do it as well! :D

I actually decided to give it (close mic) a go after watching film of Agnetha Faltskog doing it in the studio.

Looking forward to hearing Songbird (which one? I'm toying with Barry Gibb's from the Bee Gee's Main Course album).
