I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You Steve Earle cover The 2Timers

I was rummaging thru my backup drive and found a folder of songs recorded 6 yrs ago this Aug w my last band in Richmond, VA, The 2Timers.  We were stepping out on our previous bandleader.  Joey Ajemian and Becky Wailes share lead vocals on this Steve Earle ballad.  Joey's playing rhythm acoustic and I'm on dobro.  

Sadly 3 weeks after our recordings Joey died from a heart attack at 41.  End of band.  Gotta make music with our friends while we can.

A friend recorded us live in my living room, using a few studio mics and [I assume] Garageband on his Apple laptop.  DD

Excellent listen - I love Steve Earle's music, not so much the lyrics some times but he's a great songwriter/musician nonetheless!

Sorry about your friend, he was way too young. Quite the vocal asset to lose.

Great cover, singing and playing DD! It's too bad about the passing of your friend at such young age.......that's not good at all. It's good to see that you carried on with music after the demise of the band. Good cover here!

This is great Geo, to still be able to hear your friend's voice from years ago. I am sure it brings back special memories. Sounds like you guys were having fun playing this. Great rendition of SE's song, he's one of my favourites, to me he's the Hank of my lifetime.

Thanks for the great reviews and kind words!  It was such a treat for me to work with these 2 special singers [and people].  Yes, we were all big Steve Earle fans.  He had my ears from the first note of Guitar Town and ever since.  DD
