Absolutely love this - It's got a modern Sinatra swag to it, awesome!!

Requires lots more listens!

Totally off the hook bruno my brother! Very nice mix and I love the trumpet!!! I dig the harmonies also, very very cool! Thanks for letting me be a part of this one! The music is all bruno, he did what he did. He sent me a slightly different track a few days ago and I wrote the lyric today in my car in between shows. I recorded a version on the 004 w/the ps-02 but when I got home I wanted to change a line so this is recorded on my br900, bruno added the harmonies I assume with his 1600 feature( I'm not jealous :-\) He titled it & I just ran with that, it took me a day or 2 but I found it!
"Run Out Of Names"
music by bruno     Lyrics by Hook
Honesty can be bittersweet
You think you want the truth
But it's really lies you seek

        Brace yourself for the blow
I'd like it better on the chin but I expect it fast & low
You never seem to tire of being cruel
I've run out of names for you

Honesty isn't always honestly perceived
Deceptions origins
Often derive from the one deceived

You burn a flame of anger in all you do
I've run out of names for you
I had a couple of good ones
         You know it's true

Honesty can be bittersweet
You think you want the truth
But it's really lies you seek
Honesty isn't always honestly perceived
Deceptions origins
Often derive from the one deceived

I've run out of names you see
From this moment on you'll be known as me

oh yes! Very nice fellas! Fantastic groove going on with a fab Hook vocal! Bruno I am very impressed with your writing/recording skills, and a bit of a dark horse with the more groove driven writing!

excellent

Thanks for the comments all.
Hook - great lyrics - twas late last night when you sent them (11:30 UK time) - but couldn't wait to get it done! Loved the little twist at the end, wicked! And yeah, that's the BR1600 Vocal Toolbox, which to date I've not been a fan off, but it really seemed to work on this, no wobbling glitches - shows that the vocals were spot on!

The trumpet was a bit of a problem. Played it first on the Korg Microstation, and it sounded pretty bad - but I wanted a trumpet. So I thought K-Oscillator - but I had to find it first, and then find some batteries, and it was covered in dust etc - but it produced a much better solo than I could play on the keyboard.

So - mixed on the cans as it was late. Will re-mix tonight on the monitors and see if I can improve. If so, will update the track here!

Mrs B reckons that I can produce authentic trumpet sounds with the use of musical instruments or electronics. I sure that I don't know what she means?  ;D
