Suggestions for future festivals

I also like the idea of First Line Fest...

      It would really work well, in my humble opinion, if one of the Admin peeps (ideally our Lord and Master 64G) came up with a lyric that all entrants would use as, er, the first line. I think it would be very interesting to hear what the Songcrafters Massive would come up with/where they would take the line...

           Thinking cap on, 64G....

               Anyway, 'Coronation Street' is kinda hot this week...who killed Tina? Well, we know...

on a more serious note a suggest collab fest. ie members suggest two members the would like to hear collab. i'm thinking geir and henwrench would be a good match. kinda thing.

Wikipedia has a page of Lists of Songs which could be a good source of festival ideas. Especially, under the headings Topical and Miscellaneous/unsorted.

If anyone sees anything there they like, post the suggestion here.

I kind of like the idea of John Lennon's Jukebox.

I've never heard of them. Sorry. I couldn't find any mention of Lauryl Canyon (unless you mean the porn star).
But I did find The Troubadours on Wikipedia. It says they're "a UK indie band based in Wigan".

I'm not opposed to offering those artists as choices for a future festival poll, but I don't think they'd have much chance of winning. Maybe a better idea would be to have an IndieFest which would include The Troubadours and Lauryl Canyon as well as any other artists who are not (and have never been) signed to a major record label. Alternatively, we could select six indie artists for the first of a series of IndieFests like we've done with the Singer-Songwriter fests and VarietyFests.

Yeah this was exactly what I mean (but the porn angle is interesting 64 )' I have read a lot of books of artists who lived in the Canyon and performed at Doug Weston's Troubadour Club;
