i think your lyrics are spot on under those circumstances. completely born of the moment and i understand them. wasn't even drunk the first time i heard them. now that's scary, isn't it?

Quote from: mr2cool on January 31, 2009, 08:07:42 PMi was listening to elvis costello's "Alison" and i thought the way he compliments his singing with his guitar rifs is really cool. tim – i know you're up to your elbows in alligators, but would you guys mind if i showed you what my interpretation of his technique would be for this song?

This is fantastic - thoughtful, melodic, and totally fitting the song. Needless to say, it's way better than I'd manage. I've just about progressed to mangling a pentatonic here and there  :D

This song has worked out really nicely guys.

p.s. 'Alison' is one of my fave songs - a piece of songwriting I could only aspire to. Old Elvis Costello is really underrated IMO.

thanks tim - i agree with ORH in the fact that it didn't look like it would get any traction. but, it got we got it to a respectable sound in a collaborative way. i even think ORH's lyrics and vocals are perfect.

and... i apologize if i offended you - i wasn't my intention to push you out of this song, i just knew you were busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest with all you're working on.

holdempok * ORH - i'd say that's a wrap!!

Don't worry - I'm not offended! And best of all, the outcome was right for the song (which is the most important thing...). Splendid work, chaps.

well done guys. We need to get ORH pissed more often.

Cheers.

Why don't we do it on the road?
